I share your hesitations about their approach, and yet at the same time... wouldn't it be lovely if awakening were that easy.
Did you happen to see the interview with Francis Bennette (last name?) this past week on Buddha at the Gas Pump. A beautiful man, ex-trappist monk. He seemed so comfortable with, yes, there's "me" and yes, there's nothing. I can see both these perspectives myself and yet don't find much comfort in straddling the fence.
It's nice to see this getting discussed!Pat Bralleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12057484201453654459noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4910300440593931289.post-78023429821503049162012-07-30T13:00:51.718-07:002012-07-30T13:00:51.718-07:00Thank-you for this post Chris - it clarifies so mu...Thank-you for this post Chris - it clarifies so much for me! I have often said to my students that "context is everything", where "everything" means all-important. Your post has provided a re-orientation for "everything" and now the phrase makes sense in a whole new light.Kim's Blogshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13451579343118547412noreply@blogger.com
